The Wandle Trail - National Cycle Route 20, running from Wandsworth on the River Thames in south London down to Carshalton - runs alongside the River Wandle for most of its length.
Along the way, you can stop and admire traditional local sights, such as Merton Abbey Mills, and white vans blocking the cycle path, such as here on Peterborough Rd in Morden.

This is exactly the sort of situation when someone trying to squeeze through the gap might accidentally cause a rather nasty scratch down the the side of the twatmobile: or unforunately dislodge a wing mirror. Cyclists need to take great care not to do anything unintended.
ReplyDeleteFunnily enough, I said just as much to the fiftysomething woman with a fag and dyed blonde hair who was walking past and asked me why I was taking a picture.
ReplyDeleteShe stared at me for a few seconds, and I thought she was about to launch a tirade about cyclists on pavements or something. But then she cackled a smoker's cackle, and said cheerily 'Well, accidents will 'appen, I s'pose!".
I felt strangely vindicated.
