This was my fourth consecutive DD and the smoothest ride yet, thanks to that lovely warm tail wind, which meant my jacket stayed in my pannier all night. It didn't even matter that we missed the food stop. In the last 30 or 40 miles, I'm convinced that eager road workers build up the gradients of those last few hills each year, even though I believed East Anglia to be dead flat. Perhaps just part of the ageing process. I plan to find out next year.
