Now can you sort the Sustrans signs between St Ives and Huntingdon?Timnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8570734860219292199.post-6430089692959448422012-10-31T10:33:51.981+00:002012-10-31T10:33:51.981+00:00Fast work, Tom! Didn't realise my blog was such required reading among the Sustrans movers and shakers... ;)

Luckily, with experiences in Hampton Court in mind, I had a ball of twine with me in Durham to mark out my route in case of having to retrace my steps...

Nah, seriously, the simplification of the Durham through route is good news, and thanks for letting us know.

West of Durham, the signing was very clear, often excellent, and generally easy to follow. (I think there was only one missing that was potentially misleading - near Hilton, at NZ 16160 21685.)

I was particularly pleased to see you'd put in 'west' and 'east' at some points - it's a bit of a bugbear with me when you regain a trail (having lost it or just detoured for refreshement or photostop) and have no clue which way you ought to be going!

The W2W is a lovely route - three delightful, and challenging, days' cycling. It's thoroughly recommendable as the next-thing if you've completed the C2C.

RobRob Ainsleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15545429147297468874noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8570734860219292199.post-57658019037542632102012-10-31T09:47:30.759+00:002012-10-31T09:47:30.759+00:00Morning, you'll be glad to know that your blog...Morning, you'll be glad to know that your blog generated a few emails around Sustrans yesterday. As it happens I was in Durham seeing the County Council, and it turns out they and the University are planning a much simpler route through Durham City Centre. In practice this means that there won't be much improvement in signage over the next few months, but in the new year the route will be realigned across University land and hopefully by the time you next pass through Durham life will be a bit easier.

all the best, Tom Bailey (NCN Manager North East)http://www.sustrans.org.uknoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8570734860219292199.post-91428177689684096002012-10-30T21:11:42.847+00:002012-10-30T21:11:42.847+00:00Great write up!
